You could play the same 3 notes you just played only using your 1st, 2nd, and 3rd fingers. Cramming all 3 fingers in at the 4th fret could be difficult, but this may be easier than the other options for some people. You could even try playing these 3 notes with your 2nd, 3rd and 4th fingers.
Major-chord progressions are constructed in the harmonization of major scales in triads. For example, stacking the C-major scale with thirds creates a chord progression, which is traditionally enumerated with the Roman numerals I, ii, iii, IV, V, vi, viio; its sub-progression C-F-G (I-IV-V) is used in popular music, as already discussed. Further chords are constructed by stacking additional thirds. Stacking the dominant major-triad with a minor third creates the dominant seventh chord, which shall be discussed after minor chords.
But after researching so many of these other tools, it becomes so clear how beneficial both Guitar Tricks and JamPlay truly are. Why spend 50 to 100 dollars on DVDs and books, when you can literally get full access, 24/7 to thousands of high definition videos and live lessons.

The pickguard, also known as the scratchplate, is usually a piece of laminated plastic or other material that protects the finish of the top of the guitar from damage due to the use of a plectrum (“pick”) or fingernails. Electric guitars sometimes mount pickups and electronics on the pickguard. It is a common feature on steel-string acoustic guitars. Some performance styles that use the guitar as a percussion instrument (tapping the top or sides between notes, etc.), such as flamenco, require that a scratchplate or pickguard be fitted to nylon-string instruments.
Guitar tab will not aid you in the process of learning and understanding music theory, as it only tells you where to position your fingers. In many printed books you may see guitar tab alongside standard notation. While useful for guitarists of any experience level, guitar tab is perfect for the casual player.

Conventional music uses diatonic harmony, the major and minor keys and major and minor scales, as sketched above. Jazz guitarists must be fluent with jazz chords and also with many scales and modes; “of all the forms of music, jazz … demands the highest level of musicianship—in terms of both theory and technique”.
Learn a fun two-bar double-stop blues riff. This one is all about a blues rhythm with a swing feel. You’ll notice that the open-string double-stops in the first measure use staccato to give a short, noticeable sound. In […]
All three principal types of resonator guitars were invented by the Slovak-American John Dopyera (1893–1988) for the National and Dobro (Dopyera Brothers) companies. Similar to the flat top guitar in appearance, but with a body that may be made of brass, nickel-silver, or steel as well as wood, the sound of the resonator guitar is produced by one or more aluminum resonator cones mounted in the middle of the top. The physical principle of the guitar is therefore similar to the loudspeaker.

I first met Gio at Los Angeles Valley College. I enrolled in the beginning guitar class and enjoyed it so much that I formed a group class with two other classmates for a once per week group lesson with Gio. I have found him to be an excellent guitar instructor who is very patient and complimentary to the student’s strengths. I appreciate the manner in which Gio approaches teaching guitar, which is a combination of constructive criticism and challenging material. Gio provides the foundation for the student to build upon and that has given me the confidence to continue learning how to play the guitar.

An open tuning allows a chord to be played by strumming the strings when “open”, or while fretting no strings. The base chord consists of at least three notes and may include all the strings or a subset. The tuning is named for the base chord when played open, typically a major triad, and each major-triad can be played by barring exactly one fret. Open tunings are common in blues and folk music, and they are used in the playing of slide and lap-slide (“Hawaiian”) guitars. Ry Cooder uses open tunings when he plays slide guitar.
